CPC offences could bring penalties
05/09/2007 Fixed penalties of £30 could be introduced for Certificate of Professional Compet-ence (CPC) offences, the Driving and Standards Agency (DSA) has revealed. The CPC is being introduced from September 2009 under the EU compulsory training directive.
The DSA says that fixed penalties could be given for offences such as failing to carry evidence of a valid CPC when driving a relevant vehicle. The police and VOSA will be able to access data held at DVLA to verify a driver's CPC status.

VOSA To Take Bookings for LEZ Certificates
20/08/2007 From Monday, 20 August, the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) began accepting advance bookings for Low Emissions Certificate (LEC) tests. Inspections are to become available at all Heavy Goods Vehicle Test Stations (HGVTS) from 3 September.
VOSA Targets Vehicles on International Journeys
16/07/2007 It has been a year since the Ministerial launch of the South East International Pilot, which involved checking vehicles on international journeys.
An 18 hour check on 3-4 July 2007 was held by VOSA at a checksite off the M20 in Kent. VOSA examiners targeted vehicles and drivers on international journeys to ensure compliance with the vehicle safety and driver’s hours requirements.
Speed Limiter Legislation
26/03/2007 - On 1st January 2007 Euro 3 vehicles first registered between 1st October 2001 & 1st January 2005 came within the scope of the European 2002/85/EC Road Speed Limiter (RSL) directive for the first time
